"I guess I was a typical
Balmain resident in terms of my Thai eating experiences - tried all the
local Thai restaurants and had my favorites. There were a few good
restaurants and many average ones. I also had tried to cook my own Thai
meals but they never were as good as restaurant meals. My partner and I
and 2 friends decided to attend Athita’ s cooking classes.
What a great experience it
was- we had good fun, a few drinks and got our hands “dirty”, in terms
of preparing the meals from scratch ie. Cutting, chopping, pounding,
frying etc. Athita was an excellent teacher, applying the time honoured
“discuss, demonstrate, do” technique, and then we demolished the 3
meals we had prepared. We even had enough left over for the next night.
The meals we had that night
were, in my opinion, of better quality and taste than any restaurant
Thai meals I have eaten in a long time."

"Athita taught me how to cook
Thai food very well and patiently. First of all I am not a person that
can cook, but now I am able to do all of the food that I did in the
courses. Even how to roll Curry puff, wrapped pandan leave chicken, and
make a curry paste from scratch.
I took almost the entire menu
that she offered. So if you want to be able to cook Thai food, Ehm.....
Incredible Thai food I would say, and then you should take one of her
class... And now I just opening Thai restaurant in my home country, it
is a new restaurant however I can see that my repeated customers are
coming back. Thanks Athita."

"
In April 2008, Athita catered for our son Ian’s 30th Birthday.
The food provided was beautifully presented, wide ranging in exotic
flavours and textures and prepared with a very high level of
professionalism. Ian eats out extensively, frequently in Thai
restaurants and he pronounced this to be the best Thai food he had
eaten! Athita provided us with an extensive list to choose our
menu and advised us on appropriate combinations and quantities. The
serving amounts were very generous and her clean-up unobtrusive and
very quick. We are delighted to recommend Athita for the
provision of high quality, good value Thai food. "

"A friend and I enrolled in
one of Athita's Traditional Thai cooking classes. It was a hands-on
class which was lots of fun. Despite being 'all thumbs' I managed to
stuff chicken wings and even make banana leaf cups for the fish curry,
thanks to Athita's patience. Although cooking the traditional Thai way
is labour intensive it is well worth the effort as the result is a
delicious meal such as you will never get in your local Thai take-away.
One of my favourites is Tom Kha Kai which is quick and easy and makes a
tasty light meal. If you want to learn real Thai cooking you can't go
past Athita's lessons."
